Hi, I’m Geoff Hohwald. I’ve been playing the banjo since 1964, and it’s my mission to help people just like you become the banjo player you’ve always wanted to be. I started in Columbus, Ohio, studied under John Hickman, and have performed with two of Bill Monroe’s guitar players (Tom Ewing and Wayne Lewis), Red Allen, Frank Wakefield, Hylo Brown, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and the Greater Atlanta Bluegrass Band.

You may recognize the Banjo Primer Book for Beginners (including online video and audio access). Since I wrote the Banjo Primer in 1982, it has helped more than 200,000 people around the world learn how to play the banjo. Maybe you’re one of them.
